Google announced today that they have updated their ranking algorithm. They are making it much easier for users to find a large number of results from a single site. So if a visitor is particularly interested in a certain domain he or she will be presented with multiple results all from the same domain and it is far more likely that they will find what they are looking for a lot faster.
My concern is: Will this change in algorithm favour big names and brands? It looks like to me….

SEO world is changing constantly and with such a speed that sometimes we are lost in the pool of information and contradictions. If one wants to keep on top of the SEO news then almost daily participation within leading forums and blogs is required.
Once you have completed on-page SEO, the next step would be to start working on off-page SEO. In order to move the rankings of your website closer to the first page of the search engine you will have to start building backlinks to your website. There are many factors that will influence the rankings of your website but I will point out two of them which I believe are very important:
1. Variety of the links that point back to your site is the key for healthy progress to the top of the search engine. What does “variety of the link” mean? It means that backlinks should be coming from different kind of properties like article directories, video directories, podcasts directories, bookmarking sites, forums, blogs, press release sites, document sharing sites etc.
2. Backlinks building consistency is the second one. Be consistent in numbers of backlinks you place and spread them equally over time.
Please remember that you should always do your on-page SEO before you start building links.
Here below is the image I created just to visually show off-page SEO.
