In order to know how many hits your blog received, where the traffic came from or which website has sent you the most of the traffic you need some kind of tracking installed on your blog.
Google analytics is the one that will do the job and I believe is better than most of the tracking software available on the market even better than the ones you need to pay for.
I crreated this video just to show you how you manually install Google analytics on your wordpress blog. I always prefer to install manually these types of codes as I like to know how things work in the background. But that is only me. If you prefer to install Google plugin which you can find in the Wordpress plugins area than this video is not for you. To install it manually you will need few minutes and it is very easy to do.
I really appreciate that you keep coming back to my site, it's loyal people like you that make what I do worth it. If you have any questions feel free to email me. Oh and since you obviously like our site it'd be great if you could share it with a friend... They'll love you for it!

This is a really helpful tool, Gordon, thank you. I was looking for a way to keep track of how many visits I get. Good luck with the masterclass.

Hi Gordon
Great video, really clear and easy to follow, really helpful. Google analytics or at least some kind of web stats tool are essential to know what your visitors are doing, where they are coming from and what tweaks you need to make to your site or your advertising campaign.
Cheers
Ben

Hi Gordon, Nice one mate. I installed it just like you said and I have it working. You are providing a great service to your fellow classmates. Thanks and keep going.
Best wishes, Brian Ripley.
Thanks for this Gordan. I’m going to install Google Analytics on my sites now.
Just one comment, though. When you copy code, I notice that you highlight it and then press Ctrl+c. When you do this, there is always a danger that you might not highlight all the code. May I suggest that a better way is to click anywhere in the code and press Ctrl+a (to guarantee that you have definitely selected 100% of the code) and then press Ctrl+c to copy it?
Your videos are very helpful – thanks!
