Gordan here….I hope everybody is busy following traffic tips from Thursdays module.
I have been over to Squidoo and created my first lens.
It is here:
http://www.squidoo.com/being-student-of-Alex-Jeffreys
Ranked #4720 in Business, #74831 overall
It took me a couple of hours to write my content and understand how it all works. Still to find how to create a link (I know it is crazy, but I could not figure out). Just to mention that in the first half an hour I received 6 visits to my Squidoo page, I have hardly saved it.
I will go over to twitter now and create an account and make connection between twitter and squidoo,
I guess this is what I need to do
Regards,
Gordan
p.s., guys some great tips for traffic here on Eoin’s blog and here on Jerry’s blog

Gordan!
Erwin Chua here. Your Squidoo is a step in the right direction.
I previously did some IM using a squeeze page and my Lens show up on the Google search more often than my previous squeeze pages. I’ll be setting up my Lens as well soon.
If you have a question or something to share, you’re invited to leave a comment on my blog or send me a tweet on Twitter.
All the best!

Hello Gordon
Thanks very much for adding me to your blog roll taking time to visit http://AlanNeath.com to leave a message for me.
I see you are doing very well with your social networking and gathering momentum, even if it is sat in your car with a laptop, well done, you have definitely got the bug and the drive to succeed
cheers
Alan
Hi, Gordon, thanks for dropping by. Well since the 3.00am finish and go to bed on Friday morning I have not had a chance to get very much done in the driving traffic stakes.
Friday was my Volkswagen Club’s Xmas dinner and that was another 2.00am to be night and Saturday was a must do some Xmas shopping type of day.
Today I had the bungalow to clean, washing to do etc etc, perils of being a bachelor! Was due to have visitors this afternoon so could not get into much and then that was postponed to this evening so complete wipe out really.
I have visited a few of the higher profiled blogs and left some comments and also popped some postys onto a couple of Social sites to see if that gets things going.
since putting the site up I have also been sending E.Mails to the members of List Joe, List Dot Com and Viral URL as I have been using them for a while. Within hours of initial launch I saw quite a bit of traffic but this has waned in t eh past few days probably as everyone is caught up in the Xmas fever too.
I have also produced my own banner and placed a banner ad in one of the banner exchange sites to test that water too.
With all of my previous efforts this is always the point where things seem to stagnate a bit so hope this wont be the csase this time.
Norman
Hi Gordon,
Thanks for dropping by my blogs. I visited a few Forums and make comments. But that will be very slow process and I only just started. I would need to be more involved with the social sites, and alloted time to it very soon.
From your comment, I will take Squidoo as my urgent priority. Right now my best source of list building is still Safelists, I have a blog about that in my site. I created a list of 80 giving away Alex’s eBook in about a week. It is only method I know that has a little bit of result as compared to nothing.
I am going to try out Squidoo as soon I reply to all comments so far.
John.
Hi, Gordan,
Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the valuable comments.
Your squidoo lens is great.
All the best,
Joan
Hi Gordon,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment on my blog. I’m trying to get a round to everyone, but I seem to be only able to cover so much ground in a day!
I’ve got to add to my sqidoo page and do a bit more on twitter as well.
I’ll drop back by later,
Cheers,

Hi Gordon
Wow, I’m pressed by what you’ve done on squidoo and that you got 6 hits on squidoo within 30 minutes – makes me want to get on squidoo quickly- talking of which I only registered twitter the other night and wow it’s mad.
Anyway looking forward to more of your traffic generation method and results too.
All the best
Nigel
Hey Gordon my darling,
I just wanted to come by but I really honestly am running out of time to do my stuff today, before x-mas if you know what I mean..
So I apologise if it’s a bit rude but I will paste my comment that I just posted on Mark’s blog as well to save time ok?
I also replied your comment on my own blog.
So here is the post to Mark and to you:
…”I am running like a headless chicken and it shows.. I was writing a post entitled “Very difficult to still run a business over the holiday season with small kids” and is sooo true.
Thanks for coming by my blog. I have answeared your comment there but thought it would be nice to come by and pay you a visit as well.
As I said in there I have also set up my first lens but need still to figure it out in which way it will drive traffic into my blog. I mean, do we just set it up and will happen, or is all to do with the way you set your links up, I am wondering.
anyway, I was in such a hurry that I forgot to hit the publish button at the end. Now is live and you can visit at: http://www.squidoo.com/Setting-up-my-business
Now, question to you and to whomever knows really. I set the name for the lens as Setting up my business at first and then I though later that I should link up to my motherly marketing theme, which is becaming very much my brand and called Motherly Business instead. Now even though squidoo gives you the option to edit each part the URL does not change to what I want. Do you know how to go about that one by any chance?
I am going to work on my tweeter account next and will be writing a post with links to usefull resources to using tweeter since so many of us don’t seem to capitalize into it’s huge power. As I said in my comment back to you on my blog, I did some research on you tube and found some useful videos in there.
I am thinking about embedding them on my blog soon/ish so everyone can use it, so please folks come by to check on it between today and tomorrow. I hope it will be usefull to all of us.
Mark, I cannot believe that I haven’t yet used youtube to drive traffic back, I haven’t gone over the fear factor of making the video I don’t think. I will now.
Speak soon, still running and writing like a headless chicken.
It’s great to see everyone is working hard…”
Lot’s of love,
Sandra
