Hello again…Gordan here….Planning subject…Please read the title above once again. This was my answer to a person who asked me whether I have been doing some planning recently. That was about four years ago when I was attending a seminar. At that time I asked myself why actually that person asked that question and why planning would be so important to him.
To be honest it took me a while actually couple of years to fully understand the meaning of that question.
So well done, now I am ready to answer
.
I have not actually heard any gurus talking about planning but I can assure you that every serious marketer does some serious planning every so often.
I did my first plan about 6 months ago. I set my goals, both personal and business, for the next 12 months. Since I have started to plan I have progressed more than I have progressed for the last three years.
Once you have your plan for next 12 months written or printed on the paper it becomes real and you treat your plan with more respect. After you have your 12 months overall goal written down you move to a quarterly plan, than monthly, weekly and finally you do your daily plan with daily tasks.
If you follow this plan you will be amazed how much it gets done. There are so many things I used to do
throughout the day or night that kept distracting me from completing the tasks. Reading mails, clicking on links, reading sales letters, answering on a few emails and all of a sudden it’s 1am in the morning, I am panicking as I have to get up at 6am and go to work.
Read you emails only twice a day and concentrate on the tasks you need to do. Once you have completed them then open your inbox and check your mail. Follow this plan word for word and you will see the results.
Also I would like to recommend you a very good tool I use to do my planning. The product is called Mind Meister. The tool is free or you can sign up for an upgrade if you prefer. There is only one word I can describe this with and that is – Priceless.
You can plan your days and weeks ahead, plan the way you will start your product creration, plan the way you will be moving from method to method and so on.
This morning I planned to write this post and I wrote it down as a task for tonight. The fact that I completed it makes me feel good. I suggest you to try for a couple of weeks and let me know whether it is working for you.
Speak to you soon,
Gordan

Hi Gordon, good sound advice my friend.
Many thanks, Barry Wells
Hi Gordon, I agree planning is essential, I have already read several articles on the subject. I like your blog post, and you have a really good looking header.
Good luck on the Masterclass course!
Ray.
Hi Gordon,
Just wanted to thank you for all the tips and tools on your blog. I am really finding them useful. I agree that planning is essential, I just haven’t quite got there yet. I’m still trying to stop getting distracted. I have closed my emails now though and only open them once or twice a day and that’s made a big difference already. I will be checking out Mind Meister, can’t see a link but I guess I can just google it.
Thanks again,
Tracey
Hi Gordon!
Thought I’d swing by to say hi! As usual you are bang on with this post. I mean to do more planning but my life always gets in the way. But I do do informal planning – where I decide what I’m going to do and I keep it in mind until I’ve actually done it – be it an hour, day, week or even couple of weeks!
I can’t get to grips with Mind Meister tho – I still prefer pen and paper for the mind maps! More intuitive somehow and I can always find it when I need to add something!
Cheers!
